Here are some comments we have received regarding the
event:
Hey Ricky, Its Nick Lazor and I rode the
hare scrambles. I just want to say thank you - it
was a great track, and I want to tell you that your guys that helped me out when my bike quit,
they did a good job. Thanks Nick...
I just wanted to commend you guys on an
excellent job. Its my first hare scramble. All I was
worried about was not finding my way through the course. You guys did an
awesome job of
marking the course, and I did not miss one turn. Your employees were
awesome to talk to and
they were very helpful with my questions. Thanks for a great experience.
Rick, we were unable to attend Nick's Uncle Gary's Race Tools Free Ride Day '05 and
we both were
very disappointed especially after Gary said how good the event turn out of Pro Riders was and
that the track was really fun for all! So we decided to ride the Hare Scramble event. We did, and we
just returned from the Hare Scrambles and I wanted to take a moment of your time regarding the
experience of today. My son Nick of 16 years and I decided that we would ride your race this Sunday
about a month ago as a team event. Once we arrived, we found everyone from the helpers to the other
racers very helpful and friendly. It really restored in me why I and my family really enjoys this sport.
Nick decided to have me start the race - did I mention that the track was completely foreign to me and
that I never rode his CR125 in the dirt. Anyways, my lap was great fun and the track conditions and
weather made for enjoyable ride. It was time to hand over the handlebars to Nick. After a few fatherly
words of wisdom I sent my son out on his adventure (Nick has been riding dirt in his spare time and
has never actually competed - so here goes). I figured I would give him about 45 minutes to come
around. Well, one hour passed and no Nick. My wife Chris and sister-in-law Lora were scoring and
we all began to worry that something had gone wrong when they did not see him come through.
Too much time had gone by, now one hour and twenty minutes. Mike Tosch caught
wind of Nick's
situation and that we all were very concerned about Nick and he quickly radioed his crew to keep
an eye out for #515 on CR125. Not much time had passed and Mike let us know that Nick was okay
and he had bike problems - BIG RELIEF! Although, we still didn't know where he was or how he was
getting back. Long story short, Nick had fouled out his spark plug (no spare) and someone had
to help
him get a new spark plug and help him get on his way. (So, I need to pay this someone for a new spark
plug and thank this person for helping my son Nick - we are very grateful to this person).
I figured I would
see him and his bike on the back of a pick up truck. Well, I heard another bike rounding the last bend
and as I turned around I saw Nick still racing and he was making the final bends to the finish. He even
made the final log jump to the finish. It was unbelievable! We were all very relieved and proud that he
had finished the event. He was a little disappointed that he had problems with his bike, I said to him, be
thankful that you are all right and your finishing was a bonus, especially for what had just happened to
him. Nick later told us, that after his bike stopped running he pushed his bike out of the
woods (for
about a mile) to what was later to be found out, the furthest point from home base to find this person
that would help him. Thank you to this person for all of the help! This is a credit to your
club, Mike
Tosch and this person that helped Nick to get on his way. THANK YOU! Our goal before we started was
to finished the race-we did! And not to get last - we finished 12th out of 13th. YEAH!
Great Fun! Great
Track! Great People! Great Sport! See Ya next year! George Lazor - Team Lazor Beam
